Mellipou in collaboration with the artist Nathalie Lété
Nathalie Lété is one of the most prolific artists of her generation. We had the chance to work with her on a collection of baby music boxes. His enchanting, strong and personal universe amazes us more than ever.

illustration, textile, painting: Nathalie Lété is a jack of all trades. Born in 1964 to a Czech-German mother and a Chinese father, she has retained from her origins a pronounced taste for travel and color. Until she was 18, however, she followed classical language studies in order to become an air hostess. A clairvoyant then predicted to her that she would make a career in creation. Nathalie Lété then changed direction and enrolled at the Duperré School of Applied Arts in Paris and also began studying lithography at the Beaux-Arts. She began her artistic work with cardboard sets and in the form of a collaboration, “Mathias and Nathalie”. But after 10 years, Nathalie Lété turned to other media to develop a universe that became very recognizable: colorful, naive and childish. Her favorite field is textiles, but she is also known for her illustrations of children's books. It also produces sculptures and jewelry in very limited series. Relief rugs in the shape of mushrooms, crocheted butterflies, characters made of pieces of meat and wallpaper representing forest animals are some of the elements that make up Nathalie Lété's universe.
TO KNOW EVERYTHING
What did you like about this collaboration with MELLIPOU?
I really liked the ease with which this collaboration took place...spontaneity, efficiency and speed...everything I like...and then a nice result in an area of products that I
hadn't yet worked in collaboration with a brand.
Your sleep ritual when your children were little?
My ritual with my children was that they fell asleep independently, with a music box...at the time I had them
made one myself in the shape of a dog's head.
How do you manage your sleep?
I manage my sleep by taking a spritz of Bach flower before going
in bed, I read for 15 minutes and I turn off the light very
regular at 11:30 p.m. at the latest, with an earplug in each
ear, very glamorous all that….
Your favorite lullaby?
The sound of the waterfall when I open my windows in the summer in our country house….
What would be the ideal lullaby?
At night, hearing the owl say good night and otherwise silence with
just as background noise the waterfall...especially no noise from neighbors and human beings. For the nap, a little soft music with pleasure,
mixed with birdsong and the sound of water.
Your wildest dream?
Being able to teleport myself elsewhere by magic whenever I want...being able to live several lives...
Do you work in music?
It really depends on my need for concentration... when I'm painting I like to listen to folk or classical music... when I
have to do paperwork I have to be in silence. There I listen to Vivaldi's Stabat mater. In general I like sad music.
